Introduction

G'day, and welcome to Adelaide Storm! This is a place where I, and possibly a couple of friends in future, will talk about all the happenings in the heavy metal scene of Adelaide, South Australia.

In case you don't know me - which you probably do, since I most likely have about four friends reading this - my name is Veronica, but you can call me by my nicknames - two of which happen to be the same as the first names of Dio and the first ever Metallica bassist (you know, the one who dropped out to "get a real job"? The one who's probably kicking himself now? Yeah, him). My favourite bands include giants like Slayer and Iron Maiden alongside local offerings like Universum.

International acts I have moshed to include Children of Bodom, Opeth, Alice Cooper, Arch Enemy and Suffocation, and I've seen a list of local bands as long as your arm. I refused to see Megadeth play for two hours when Slayer pulled out of the show, I started a circle pit for Arch Enemy, and I threw a kangaroo scrotum at Jens Ludwig of Edguy. I fucked up Cradle of Filth's soundcheck, almost caught a drumstick at Trivium, and was devastated that Nightwish's last Adelaide show was eighteen-plus.

But that's enough about me, so next post, I'll actually talk about some music. Won't that be nice?
